*Media Advisory* Wenham Police to Host Open House as Part of “Wenham Day”

WENHAM — Chief Thomas Perkins is pleased to announce that the Wenham Police Department will host an Open House at the end of the month as part of Wenham Day.

WHEN:

Saturday, Aug. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WHERE:

Wenham Police Station, 1 Friend Court

WHO:

  • Wenham police officers
  • Detective Shane Kavanaugh

WHAT:

Wenham Police will be offering station tours to the public, as well as creating identification kits for children donated by the Wenham Police Relief Association. Detective Kavanaugh will be on scene to take children’s fingerprints and DNA samples, which will then be given to their parents.

The open house is put on in conjunction with the Wenham Day Family Festival and Summer Fair. Events will also be held at the Wenham Fire Department and museum.

“We look forward to opening our doors as we celebrate families throughout Wenham next Saturday,” Chief Perkins said. “Everyone in our community is invited, and we encourage you to attend.”

About Wenham Day:

Wenham Day is hailed as one of the North Shore’s finest craft fairs featuring the region’s best artisans and family-friendly activities. Highlights of the fair include music showcases, face painting, a petting zoo, and other children’s activities. In addition, free tours will be given at the historic Claflin-Gerrish-Richards House, and both Wenham Police and Fire Departments will host open houses.
