WENHAM — Chief Thomas Perkins is pleased to announce that Wenham Police officers will once again wear pink shirts this month to raise awareness for the fight against breast cancer.

Beginning last week, and continuing each Friday throughout the month of October, Wenham Police officers will wear their special-edition pink uniform shirts to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year is the second year in a row that officers are wearing the shirts.

“This is an initiative that all of our officers are proud to take part in, because all of us have been impacted by breast cancer in some way,” Chief Perkins said. “This was enormously popular with members of the community last year, and I have no doubt that residents will continue to support this important cause.”

Each officer has one of the shirts in their uniform repertoire, and last year officers reported receiving positive feedback from members of the community who approached them to learn more about the shirts.
