WENHAM — Chief Thomas Perkins announces that the Wenham Police Department is wearing pink t-shirts throughout October to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM).

BCAM, which occurs each October, is an international health campaign meant to increase awareness about the disease and raise money to support research, prevention efforts, diagnosis, treatments and the search for a cure.

To support the cause, Wenham Police will be wearing pink shirts every Monday and Friday throughout October. The Wenham Police Relief Association donated the cost to make the shirts and will also donate to the American Cancer Society.

“We’re honored to be able to join in the effort to promote breast cancer awareness during October and contribute to an organization that is working to find a cure,” Chief Perkins said.

Those who would like to make a donation in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month can do so here.
