WENHAM — The Town of Wenham asks that residents complete a survey to help the Select Board gather public input to help prioritize the spending of funds received through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
The Town of Wenham’s expected allocation of ARPA funds is $1.57 million. The town has appropriated approximately $175,000 so far, leaving approximately $1.4 million to use for other allowable needs — which are wide-ranging.
Residents are asked to complete a 25-question survey, one question per proposed project, to help the Select Board gain a better understanding of what projects the public thinks should be prioritized.

Unlike the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act and the Coronavirus Relief Fund, which were intended to allay the direct and immediate impacts of the pandemic, the American Rescue Plan allows for more flexible spending and extends the timeline for recipients to allocate money.
Department heads, as well as board and committee members, submitted approximately 65 projects and $6.5 million worth of requests to the Select Board, which were subsequently ranked and narrowed down to a list of 25 finalists.
